PEPC Short Term Mission Trip
Dominican Republic
October 15-22, 2011 – completed

VisionTrust is one of our partnered ministries at PEPC.  Currently, VisionTrust runs seven orphanage/schools with a Christian Ministry.  In the past, PEPC has sent down teams and have helped build a school in Herrera.  This project established an ongoing relationship with Sabana Perdida and a plan to continue yearly visits with this area.  Our team of 10 or more people help with light construction, electrical, painting, and plumbing as well as community outreach.

Sabana Perdida is located in the city of Santo Domingo, 321 children are in attendance (the second largest of VisionTrust’s programs).  Students go through 8th grade and the school building is shared with the church.  This program greatly desires to have their own space because both the church and the school are growing and are running out of room.

Project Needs:

A team of 10 or more people to help establish an ongoing relationship with the church as it grows to administer the love of Christ to the community.  Skills needed would be light electrical, plumbing, construction and painting.  Community service will be to the area through VBS, repair/paint homes, discipleship training for families.  Once the team has been established we will concentrate on the gifts of the PEPC team.
